Themed “Dresses Galore in Films”, this edition of the Film Festival introduces the audience to the varied film aesthetics of China, including Macao, and the Portuguese-speaking countries and regions created with the use of local cultural elements, and gives a glimpse of how these countries and regions display their unique culture through fashion styling. The Film Festival features more than 20 different types of films, complemented by an array of intriguing outreach activities such as outdoor screenings, post-screening seminars and workshops, which will be held in different places in the Macao Peninsula, Taipa and Cotai, allowing the audience to immerse in the colourful cinematic world and meet numerous characters in dazzling clothes.

Outdoor Screening - Animations of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries
The outdoor screening session, staged in the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory, showcases a selection of animated short films. In these uniquely styled and splendid works, people of all ages and nationalities, including both adults and children, can immerse themselves in a whimsical and playful world. The six selected animated shorts will take the audience on a journey, starting from the local scene with Mui and venturing into the fairylike tale of Paddy from Mainland China. After relishing The Morning Sun, the audience can then embark on a surreal and mesmerizing adventure through the delightful surprises in Ice Merchants, The Garbage Man and Garrano from Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Closing Film - MIÚCHA, The Voice of Bossa Nova
Despite her position at the epicentre of the Brazilian Bossa Nova scene, singer Heloísa Maria Buarque de Hollanda, known as Miúcha, has been largely underappreciated.
Miúcha, The Voice of Bossa Nova tells the story of the renowned Brazilian singer through her personal letters, audio diaries, home movies, and her own expressive watercolor drawings animated for the film.
