Camané is a precursor of today's new generation of Portuguese fado singers and is widely accepted as one of the most impressive and representative male voices of Portugal's native urban song, Fado. Yao Shenshen was invited by the Macau Chinese Orchestra to conduct this Concert. Camané will perform his songs adapted to Chinese musical instruments, resulting in a harmonious fusion of Chinese and Portuguese sounds.
Camané is the pioneer of the new generation of male fado singers in Portugal. At a very young age he heard fado for the first time and fell in love. From that day on, his life took a new direction. He began to be recognized in Portugal at just 13 years old, after winning the “Grande Noite do Fado” singing competition. Since then he has had a successful artistic career over the last 44 years, with over 6 million albums of his authorship having been sold to date. Considered the “King of Fado” in Portugal, Camané has performed concerts in the main cities of Portugal, Europe, America and Asia.
Yao Shenshen is the permanent conductor of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra and deputy secretary-general of the Conducting Committee of the Chinese National Orchestra Society. He presented many important masterpieces to the public and won many national and municipal awards.
