Trio Bravo+’s soundtrack graces Sergei
Eisenstein’s monumental silent film with new revolutionary honours, 75 years
after its creation. The music turns the cinematic masterpiece into a multimedia
work of art and puts the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride. The
group’s accompaniment to Battleship Potemkin pays a dramatic homage to
one of the most important moments in Russian film history. With this musical
score, Trio Bravo+ pits itself against the epic imagery using rapid, strong
passages alternating with quiet, poetic and melancholy moments.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau commissioned
soundtracks from this renowned group for three famous Chinese animation movies
by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio.
“They perform as completely persuasive
cosmopolitans in terms of music, a demanding, ambitious dissolution and
cancellation of borders and styles.”
