Founded in 2002 by the Lausanne Conservatory,
with the encouragement of Pierre Amoyal, the Camerata de Lausanne revives the
tradition of ensembles that perform without a conductor. Solo violinist Pierre
Amoyal is accompanied by four to six violins, three violas, three cellos, one
double bass and a harpsichord. These young talents come from very different
backgrounds, but form a cohesive and dynamic ensemble united by a common
instrumental tradition.
"We even forget their spectacular technique to
abandon ourselves to the pleasure of a liberated and delicious music . Violins,
violas, cellos and double bass insinuate themselves under the voluptuously
imperial baton of Pierre Amoyal."
