by The Strad magazine as “the most gifted young cellist,” Li-Wei is one
of the fastest-rising stars in recent years on the classical music scene, and is
celebrated for his refinement and elegance. He was the winner of the 2001
Naumburg Competition and the silver medalist at the 11th Tchaikovsky
International Competition in Moscow. As a commemorative concert celebrating the
150th birthday of the to the great English composer Edward Elgar, Li-Wei
and the Macao Orchestra will bring you the composer’s most prominent works such
as Introduction and Allegro, Enigma Variations and Cello Concerto.
