For this year’s Macao Arts Festival, the Macao Conservatory has drawn on
its store of talent and creativity to produce more than ten completely new
programmes. Bold and extravagant, the ballet The Spanish Girl is a work
that is brazen and unrestrained in form. Meng-Hui is a soul-stirring
dance. The Chinese dances, Yellow Children, Bold Strokes,
Competition and The Reflections of the Moon on Erquan Spring, express
typical Chinese emotions and draw on the profound stores of Chinese culture. The
choreography class students also take an audacious step, introducing novel
material and concepts with pluck and panache in dances such as Encounter with
Alice 2004, 1≠1, Mother-Daughter and The Rhythm of Colour.
The entire programme brims with youth and vitality.
