Fined tuned by choirmaster Josef Pancik, the 18 voices of the Prague Chamber Choir reveal the mysteries of Czech choral music dating from the 16th to the 20th century. This tradition, created by such important composers as Leoš Janáček and Josef Bohuslav Foerster, is brought to life in sacred strains and images of Eastern Europe. On the profoundly Czech programme the genius of French composer Charles Gounod stands out, closing the Macao debut of this choir, founded in 1990, with a note of panache.
