Pablo Ziegler

Marco Granados has put together an ensemble of leading virtuoso musicians in order to bring forth the excitement, passion and energy of the beautiful music of Venezuela and Latin America. Venezuelan music is characterized by joyful, fast melodies, complex syncopated rhythms and jazzy harmonies that blend the traditions of African, European and native cultures with a sense of sophistication that is truly unique. The marriage between jazz and tango was virtually unheard of 30 years ago – until pianist Pablo Ziegler, Astor Piazzolla’s pianist, burst onto the music scene, seamlessly combining the sultry tango rhythms with the energetic spontaneity of jazz.

"...Venezuelan-born flutist Marco Granados demonstrates breath control that must be the envy of every wind player from here to the next world..."
New York City Tribune

“Ziegler's imagination in working jazz into the tango framework is impressive in scope.”
