Bach: Chorale Prelude (arr. Stokowski)
Bruckner: Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major
Lü Jia, Conductor
Like Bach, Bruckner was hailed for his improvisatory and technical abilities as an organist. Their fame and virtues as composers were respectively recognized either towards the end of their careers or, more specifically for Bach, almost a century after his death. Both innovators boast repertoires rife with sacred works, blending tradition with progressive gestures that look pointedly towards the future of music. Join the Macao Orchestra and Music Director Lü Jia as they explore and traverse the harmonic and contrapuntal terrains of these two masterful composers.
