The Winter’s Tale, one of Shakespeare’s late romances, describes how the life of a king is torn apart when he falsely accuses his wife of infidelity and orders a vassal to abandon his own newborn daughter. The king repents, but too late. Many years later, in a distant land, a journey begins that may ultimately heal his pain and reunite his family, making this Shakespeare’s most uplifting tale of reconciliation and forgiveness.
Brought to you by the Macao Youth Repertory Theatre of the Macao Conservatory, this production of The Winter’s Tale is a precious chance to experience a contemporary interpretation of the entire play on the Macao stage, under the direction of the celebrated Taiwanese Shakespeare scholar Ma Tin Ni.
