Film is closely linked to our lives: it can incite laughter, tears, passion and anger, it can reflect contemporary social phenomena or microcosms and it lets spectators find happiness in other people’s stories.
Numerous scenes from international and Hong Kong films have been shot in Macao throughout the years. In Macao in Movies by the Audiovisual CUT Association, the 25th Macao Arts Festival gives the public the opportunity to revisit some of these movies, shot in different eras both in black and white and colour. On big screens, these movies can be differently enjoyed and the art of film can be brought closer to the community, revealing a place’s unique culture and history and conveying the interaction between film and life.
Screenings are accompanied by walking tours and post-show sharing sessions, open to the general public.
Group A: Suitable for all
Group B: Not advisable for those aged under 13
Group C: Not advisable for those aged under 18, and restricted exclusively to audiences over 13
