Have you ever listened to the complete series of Mozart’s Violin Concerti in one day? The Macao Virtuosi chamber orchestra will perform the series in three separate concerts entitled Viva Mozart in a salute to the music prodigy!
In 1755, the ‘year of violin concertos’ for Mozart, the composer, only 19 years old at the time, is thought to have completed his five violin concertos in Salzburg, his hometown, hence known as the ‘Salzburg concertos’. They are notable for the beauty of their melodies and the skillful use of the expressive and technical characteristics of the instrument, which Mozart mastered since childhood. Neither at that time, nor later, has his talent been bettered.
The Macau Virtuosi chamber orchestra, established in 2012, is composed of 20 Macao young musicians. Having pursued advanced music studies abroad, they have returned home, shouldering the mission to develop Macao’s music culture.
Don’t miss this first time ever event in Macao!
