“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” – Søren Kierkegaard, Danish Philosopher
The streets are the stage, and the buildings are the backdrop. Your mind can wander as wildly as you want, as long as you follow the rule: walk backwards! Making Space is an experimental dance act created by dancer Rita Vilhena and allows you to see the world from another direction. Walking backwards may seem simple, but participants must give up what they are familiar with, let go of their fear, and make their way backwards bravely, reshaping the physical senses and the city’s landscape simultaneously.
Making Space has travelled to different locations. In this visit to Macao, will you be brave enough to join the crowd and turn your vision backwards on this land that advocates moving forward?
