Eliot Pryne, a seasoned Shakespearean actor, has won numerous acclaims for his theatre performances. He suffers from Alzheimer’s disease in his later years, causing him confusion and delusion, and he often wanders between the real world and the theatre world. He, who used to be an acclaimed actor playing King Lear, now interprets in the real-world sorrow, happiness, separation, reunion and the vicissitudes of life with his three daughters. Is this really the story of Eliot and his three daughters or rather of King Lear and his three daughters?
The National Theatre of China is committed to creating and performing classical and modern theatrical works both from home and abroad. In this production, National First Class Director Wang Xiaoying and the actors will present a deeper interpretation of the fragility and eternity of life.
