Macao Orchestra presents concert  “Flourishing Arts” on Saturday

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the concert “Flourishing Arts” on Saturday, 12 October, at 8pm, at the University Hall of the University of Macau. Under the baton of OM’s Assistant Conductor, Francis Kan, the Orchestra joins hands with Sou Sin U, Cesónia Da Rosa and Yin Kam Wai, award winners at the 37th Macao Young Musicians Competition, and Pyotr Akulov, winner of the first prize in the Piano Group of the 2nd Zhuhai Mozart International Competition for Young Musicians. Admission is free. Tickets will be distributed at the concert venue one hour prior to the performance. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to a maximum of two tickets per person.

Macao Orchestra has long been concerned about the development of young musical talents and is committed to providing young musicians a platform to showcase their talent every year. This year’s concert features award winners of the first, second and third prize in the Piano Concerto category (Advanced Level) of the 37th Macao Young Musicians Competition, Sou Sin U, Cesónia Da Rosa and Yin Kam Wai, who will interpret Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 19 in F Major, Kabalevsky’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D Major and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 26 in D Major, respectively. OM further cooperates with Pyotr Akulov, winner of the first prize in the Piano Group A of the 2nd Zhuhai Mozart International Competition for Young Musicians, to interpret Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 13 in C Major. The public is invited to witness the performances of these emerging music talents.
