Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and co-organized by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM), the “Style‧Encounter Moment” Fashion Parade of Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making was held on 19 October at the Macao Fashion Festival 2019 in the Florence ballroom of The Venetian Macao, showcasing the latest achievements of local fashion designers.
The event was attended by the Vice President of the Committee of Cultural Industries, Hsu Hsiu-Chu; the Acting Head of the Department for Promoting Cultural and Creative Industries of IC, Kuong Chon Mei; the Director General of the CPTTM, Shuen Ka Hung; the Vice President of Design Renaissance Foundation and Board Director of Fashion Farm Foundation, Raymond Au; the Director of Project Supervision Center of the Cultural Industry Fund, Poon Weng Hong and members of the adjudicating panel of the Subsidy Programme including the Deputy Director-General of the CPTTM, Victoria Kuan Chi Ping; the member of the Committee of Cultural Industries and Vice President of the Industrial Association of Macau, José Tang Kuan Meng; the General Manager of the Macau Brand Incubation Centre, Lai Sao Keng; local veteran fashion designer, Robert Lai; and members of the Cultural Consultative Committee, Kuok Keng Man, among others.
This Fashion Parade featured works by fashion designers selected from the 2018 Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making, in which 64 sets of clothing were presented by local models, including men’s clothing, women’s casual and formal attire, and family outfits. Participating designers were (in arbitrary order): Wong Ha and Wan Sio Tong (group), Leng Carmen, Cheang Man Cheng and Mac Chi Lon (group), Cordova Celestino Maria, Lo Ka Heng and Choi Wai Leng (group), Siu David, Lai Ka Pou, and Cheang Chi Tat.
Since 2014, IC and CPTTM have jointly organized “Style‧Encounter Moment” Fashion Parade of Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making annually, showcasing the latest achievements of selected designers of the Subsidy Programme launched by IC and providing a platform for local fashion designers to promote their fashion brands and works.
