The 21^st Macao Young Musicians’ Competition will be held between 1^st and 8^th May in the Auditorium of Macao Polytechnic, with a total of 625 registered competitors.

This event aims to stimulate and promote musical learning among the youth of Macao, as well as raise their level of musical expertise through competition and exchanges.

As is already known, the competition this year concentrates solely on the different categories of the piano - Piano Solo, Concert, Sonatina, Beethoven Sonata, Chopin, 20^th century Composers, Chinese Composers, Macanese Composers and Piano Duet.

The “Macanese Composers” category was cancelled due to an insufficient number of registrations.

The “Cultural Institute” prize of MOP 100,000.00 as well as the Virtuosismo Prize of MOP 30,000.00 will still be awarded. These prizes offer the most promising students the opportunity of studying abroad.
