Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, part of the members of the jury of the 39th Macao Young Musicians Competition, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, are unable to visit Macao. In order to ensure a smooth progress of the Competition, this edition of the Competition will adopt an “online assessment of recorded performances and announcement of competition results”.
This edition of the Competition, dedicated to piano, will start on 11 July at the Inspiration Building of Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (Main Campus). Due to the impact of the pandemic, the Competition will adopt the method of “online assessment of recorded performances and announcement of the competition results” in place of “assessment of live performances and announcement of the competition results”. Participants must follow the Competition schedule (final version) announced on 28 May, and the Organizer will record the participants’ performances one time only, and re-recording is not allowed. The assessment of performances will be made based on the video recordings provided by the Cultural Affairs Bureau. There will be no on-site awarding on the day of the Competition. The competition results will be announced through the Competition’s website on 9 August. The Special Prize Competition will be rescheduled to 15 August. Further information will be announced on the Competition’s website.
To safeguard public health, participants and audiences must strictly comply with the epidemic prevention guidelines on the “39th Macao Young Musicians Competition” provided by IC during the Competition. All entrants should wear face masks, undergo temperature checks and present a valid “Macao Health Code” of the day. Those with body temperature above 37°C, with respiratory symptoms or with a “Macao Health Code” indicated as “yellow or red”, are not allowed to enter the competition venue (including the participants). In line with the pandemic prevention measures, seating for audience is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
