After the passage of typhoon Higos, the Cultural Affairs Bureau carried out inspection and cleaning works of the cultural facilities including heritage sites, public libraries, exhibition and performance venues. Most of the facilities meet the conditions and reopen to the public today (20 August).

Cultural facilities which resume regular services today include: the Archives of Macao, the Macao Cultural Centre, the Mandarin’s House, the Lou Kau Mansion, the Ruins of St. Paul's College (Ruins of St. Paul's), the Na Tcha Exhibition Room, the Guia Lighthouse and Chapel, the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum, the Heritage Exhibition of a Traditional Pawnshop Business, the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History, the Taipa Houses, the Dom Pedro V Theatre, the Macao Museum, the Zheng Guanying Memorial Museum, the Treasure of Sacred Art of St. Joseph’s Seminary, the Former Chong Sai Pharmacy, the Macao Museum of Art, the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao, the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre and the Jao Tsung-I Academy.

Due to the fact that tree branches were broken in the garden of General Ye Ting’s House and that trees fell in the Mount Fortress Garden, cleaning and repair works need to be carried out. Therefore both facilities are temporarily closed to the public until further notice.

Public libraries which resume services include: the Macao Central Library, the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library, the S. Lourenço Library, the Ilha Verde Library, the Mong Há Library, the Library in Ho Yin Garden, the Patane Library, the Red Market Library, the Taipa Library, the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Taipa, the Seac Pai Van Library, the Coloane Library, the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Areia Preta Urban Park, the Wong Ieng Kuan Children’s Library in Areia Preta Urban Park and the Senado Library.

However, the opening of libraries in gardens such as the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Luís de Camões Garden, the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Municipal Park, is subject to the park’s opening hours announced by the Municipal Affairs Bureau.
