Lee Shyan-Jer

Lee is the principal trombone of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and an adjunct assistant professor at the Department of Music of the Taiwan University of Arts, Taipei University of Education, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Shih Chien University. He obtained the Diplôme supérieur de concertiste in trombone from the École normale de musique de Paris in 1991. He was appointed as the principal trombone of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra in 1993 and has joined the orchestra’s performances in Europe, America, and Asia. He has also participated in different international art events and has been invited to serve as the guest principal trombone for symphony orchestras in Taiwan, Macao, and Guangzhou.

In addition to orchestral and solo performances, Lee has often served as a concerto performer and masterclass instructor for the department of music of universities and colleges. He is also dedicated to teaching trombone and euphonium, and conducting wind bands.
