Born in Taipei, Wang currently serves as co-principal oboe of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He obtained his Master’s degree at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin in Germany, where he studied with Jonathan Kelly, principal oboe of the Berliner Philharmoniker, and cor anglais with Dominik Wollenweber. He continued his studies at the Freiburg University of Music, where he obtained the doctorate degree.

Wang was principal cor anglais with both the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Hannover State Opera House. He has played as guest with the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, to name a few. Since 2023, he has been performing with Taiwan Connection Chamber Orchestra as principal oboe. In 2018, he recorded the album Hindemith: Kammermusik I-II-III with conductor and pianist Christoph Eschenbach.
