Lai graduated with First Class Honours from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she majored in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Nancy Loo. She holds both the Licentiate and Fellowship diplomas in Piano Performance from Trinity College London. She has performed extensively as both a soloist and collaborative pianist in vocal and instrumental recitals.

Since 2014, Lai has been the conductor of the Music Office Children’s Choir, leading the ensemble in a notable exchange with The All-American Boys Chorus in 2016. She has also been actively involved in the international tours of the Music Office Youth Choir and currently holds the position of conductor for the Music Office Youth Choir.

Currently, Lai serves as the Senior Music Officer in the Musicianship and Training Support Section of the Music Office. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of choral training programmes and musicianship courses while also providing support for the Instrumental Music Training Scheme. In addition to her educational duties, she has collaborated with various guest artists in several Music Office concerts.
