Over the course of the past forty years, Shanghai-born writer and lyricist Chen Die Yi has established himself as a giant in the world of Chinese music. His compositions reflect a romantic and idealistic temperament, and the constant search for universal love and beauty. This year the Macao International Music Festival will stage a classical concert, featuring the finest of China's musical talents, and celebrating the career of this renowned artist. Chen Xie Yang, Chen Die Yi's son, will conduct the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, with solos by well-known singers Tsai Chin, Wang Hai Min, and Fang Qiong. Chen Die Yi, aged 94, will be in attendance as the guest of honour.
