Ballet
was first performed in 1965 by the Shanghai Ballet Company. Over the past thirty years, this ballet has won many fans in China and abroad including Zhou En Lai and Deng Xiao Ping. Its artistic excellence, uniquely Chinese flavour, and moving storyline have all made The White-Haired Girl a classic twentieth-century Chinese ballet.
The performance in Macao will feature prize-winning young dancers from the Shanghai Ballet, accompanied by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and the Central Opera House Chorus, under the direction of Chen Xie Yang.
