Arturo Toscanini, one of the greatest conductors of the modern age, once described the BBC Symphony Orchestra as the best in the world. Renowned for both its flexibility and interpretive brilliance and its unique expressive style, the Macao International Music Festival is honoured to present this top-ranking orchestra performing in Macao for the first time.
For this, its first performance in Macao, the BBC Symphony Orchestra will present works by British composer William Walton, Austrian composer Erich Korngold, and Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Leonard Slatkin will conduct, with violinist Leonidas Kavakos as soloist.
