Die Zauberflöte

Follow the sounds of Tamino’s magical flute and Papageno’s silver bell to a fairy-tale world of Mozart’s Magic Flute, where good triumphs over evil, light defies darkness, and love conquers all.

A handsome prince, Tamino and the lovely princess, Pamina, fall in love against the wishes of the wicked Queen of the Night. Through a series of trials they discover the virtues of reason and wisdom, before being brought together by the High Priest, Sarastro. The bird catcher, Papageno, a dragon, and dancing animals augment a cast that gives voice to majestic music and spoken dialogue of great charm.

Don't miss Mozart’s enchanting blend of pure comedy and high drama – a masterpiece that has captivated audiences for more than 200 years.

A wonderful combination of the comic and the serious intermingled in a way that is frequently disconcerting but inevitably lifelike. Mozart has succeeded in combining these two elements of everyday life in a musical fantasy which has not been surpassed.

Sung in German, with English dialogue. Surtitles in English, Portuguese and Chinese
