The planet, our planet, is suffering. Every minute, every hour, every day that goes by, a flower, an insect, a living species (even undiscovered species) disappears. At the heart of The Ark, acrobats, one musician and a host of breathtaking images deliver a message of hope. In a series of tableaux, The Ark gently invites us to reflect upon the slow crumbling of the world around us. Using music, projections and performance to celebrate life, The Ark takes a critical look at the delicate balance between man and nature.
How can we fill our Ark today, our house, our future? The world’s future is our collective responsibility. The Ark seeks to shake us from our torpor, to take us across the blurred boundary between myth and reality.
“... the buildings encroach upon the forest; the birdsong changes suddenly into the rumblings of heavy construction equipment and smoke takes over the trees, leaving the jugglers to try to save what remains. Magnificent!”
