The six very talented men from Chicago who call themselves Hudson Shad have recreated themselves in the mould of the 1927 German group the Comedian Harmonists, Europe’s top selling ensemble between 1929 and 1935. Although they sing the repertoire of the Comedian Harmonists in the original arrangements, they create their own image instead of limiting themselves to imitation. They also present American songs of the 20s, evergreens from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, and, in addition to the popular music of yesteryear, they sing classical lieder with orchestra. The polished, funny, imaginative way in which they present their music makes their performances very special and, more often than not, brings the audience to its feet.
