Wayne McGregor’s anatomy-defying choreography and ground-breaking approach across dance, science, film, music, visual art and technology has fuelled a string of truly unique works. Featuring an ensemble of ten incredible performers, the finest exponents of McGregor’s singular dynamic style, FAR (inspired by Roy Porter’s revolutionary book Flesh in the Age of Reason) is both physical and immediate, yet intensely cerebral. McGregor’s work is inspired by the controversial Age of Enlightenment and the 18th-century French philosopher Diderot’s very first set of encyclopaedia. A superb score by Brian Eno collaborator Ben Frost and jaw-dropping visuals, including a computerised pin board of 3,200 LED lights, make FAR an absolute must-see.
Wayne McGregor | Random Dance is a Resident Company of Sadler’s Wells and a recipient of the South Bank Show Award for Dance and The International Theatre Institute’s Award for Excellence in International Dance, amongst other awards. Wayne McGregor is the first modern dance creator to be appointed Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet. He was awarded a CBE in the 2011 New Year’s Honours List.
