A non-traditional documentary and puppet performance for twelve spectators with a culinary surprise at the end. Jordanian Husam Abed was born and raised in Baqa’a camp, which is the biggest Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan . Audience sit around the table with food prepared, he tells the stories of his family in a charming and evocative way in the context of the political events in his country over the past 30 years with objects, photos, maps, videos and good old storytelling... We hear stories about a life and experiences far away from our reality. Abed creates an atmosphere for all senses. At the table, art connects with life and creation mixed with realism.

Biographical Notes
Husam Abed
Abed is a Jordanian puppeteer, musician and social worker living between Amman and Prague. He holds a Master’s Degree of Directing for Alternative and Puppet theatre at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU), Czech Republic. Founder of Dafa Puppet Theatre, he has been performing and leading puppetry and storytelling projects for children and youth in many countries especially refugee camps and underprivileged areas in Jordan. He directed puppet performances, collaborated with artists from many nations and developed his way of performing by mixing storytelling with puppetry. He is also a member founder of Flying Freedom Festival in Poland and a member founder of Amman Theatre Lab.
Réka Deák
Réka Deák is a Romanian director and scenographer. She is the founder of BABU Association in Romania and a member of Flying Freedom Festival in Poland.
Lam Teng Teng
Lam Teng Teng is the founder and Artistic Director of Rolling Puppet Alternative Theatre, the first Chinese Contemporary Puppet Theatre in Macao. She received her Master’s Degree in Directing for Alternative and Puppet Theater in the DAMU. After her Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Lam also furthered her studies in Visual Arts in the United States and England. She is a cross-media artist who works in illustration, graphic and multimedia design. Her short film won Old Images, New Life Video Competition of the 13th Macao Arts Festival.
In the recent years, Lam focuses on working as a director of alternative and puppet theatre, performer, educator of arts as well as her academic research specialised in the Transformation of Literal Language to Theatrical Language and its Dramaturgy in Puppet and Object Applications. She was invited to hold workshops and talks in Macao, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and Czech Republic. Her work Made in Macau which she wrote, directed and performed was selected as the Best Performance by Audience Jury in Prague Klauzurni Festival 2015. She was invited to present Made in Macau 2.0 in Akcent Festival, an international festival of documentary theatre in Prague and tour Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Macao.
Kevin Chio
Founding member and executive director of Rolling Puppet Alternative Theatre, Chio holds a Master’s Degree in Arts Management from the DAMU, majoring in Cultural Policy and Event Management. He currently works as a theatre producer and arts educator specialised in puppetry. His works in Macao include: The Withered Wall, Drug and Fang Fang for the Ox Warehouse Theatre Festivals from 2013-2015 respectively, Xiao An for Macao Cultural Centre “Open Box” Series 2016 and Granny Nacha for Outdoor Performing Arts Showcase in the Macao Arts Festival 2016. He also produced and performed in the Made in Macau in Prague, which was selected as the Best Performance by Audience Jury in the Klauzurni Festival 2015. The new version, Made in Macau 2.0, was invited to perform in the Akcent Festival, an international festival of documentary theatre in Prague and tour Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Macao.
