In order to optimize and promote the “Artistic and Cultural Spaces Release Programme” and to facilitate local artistic associations or individuals to use artistic and cultural spaces, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) launched the “Booking System for the use of Artistic and Cultural Spaces” on 29 September.

The IC integrated the functions of its cultural facilities and launched the “Artistic and Cultural Space Release Programme” in 2019, in which the first batch of 10 artistic and cultural spaces are available for local artistic associations to rent/ use. After summarizing the practical experience, the IC continues to actively expand the scope of releasing artistic and cultural spaces, optimize the application process as well as the regulations for the use of each venue, and launch the “Booking System for the use of Artistic and Cultural Spaces”. A total of 25 spaces are released in four categories, including exhibition spaces, spaces for rehearsals, spaces for performances and multipurpose spaces. Associations and individuals can search for information about each venue through the booking system, apply for reservations and check the application process through the internet.

Venues currently available to rent/ use include Mount Fortress Corridor, Multipurpose Room of Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, Mong-Ha Villas (Former dormitories for civil servants), Former Municipal Cattle Stable, Tap Seac Gallery, Macao Contemporary Art Center - Navy Yard No.1 and Navy Yard No.2, ground floor, rehearsal room and Black Box Theatre of the Old Court Building, Exhibition Rooms on the ground floor and the first floor, Library and Auditorium of the Jao Tsung-I Academy, Auditorium of the Macao Conservatory, Theatre and Mirror Hall of the Dom Pedro V Theatre, Auditorium of the Macao Museum of Art, Macao Museum Auditorium, Multi-functional Room of three public libraries (Seac Pai Van Library, Sir Robert Ho Tung Library and S. Lourenço Library), Ruins of St. Paul's College, Mandarin’s House and Lou Kau Mansion.
